Where do you shoot?

There are tons of interesting locations in Metro-Detroit. I have personally used, and love the following locations. 

  • Maybury State Park (Metro-Detroit)

  • Belle Isle  (Detroit)

  • Heritage Park, Farmington (Metro-Detroit)

  • Kensington State Park (Metro-Detroit)

  • Island Lake Recreation Area (Metro-Detroit)

  • Huron Meadows Metropark (Metro-Detroit)

  • Stony Creek Metropark (Metro-Detroit)

  • Ketchum Park (Marshall, MI)

Please note, mileage may apply outside the 48167 area code. Also, when choosing a location the photographer will make the final call. The goal of a location is to add an interesting, yet neutral background that allows the subject to be the main focus. Messy or overly stimulating backgrounds can distract from the client, and shift the eyes perspective. Another huge factor into deciding location is LIGHTING! Locations directly under trees or dense foliage do not allow for proper ambient lighting. The goal is always filtered light that illuminates the subject without adding stippled lighting. If you have a suggestion, please don’t hesitate to ask. I will do my best to location scout and let you know if I think it is possible to pull off.

How long will my session be?

Family, maternity, and couple sessions last for an hour. Senior sessions take two-three hours. Please arrive 15 minutes in advance so shooting can commence at the designated appointment time.

What should I bring to my session?

Unfortunately, kids can get a little hangry, so dry snacks that will not stain clothing are a good idea.  If you think you will get wet or dirty at a session, bring a change of clothing. If you think kiddo’s will fall asleep on the way home, you may even want to pack jammies. Other than that, bring some bug spray for those pesky Michigan bugs and we are good to go!

I do not offer extended family sessions.
